    Sunrise: — | Sunset: July 21, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Michelle Glisson of Paterson, New Jersey, who transitioned from this world on July 21, 2025. Michelle was a beacon of strength, compassion, and quiet resilience—a woman whose presence touched countless lives and whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Michelle leaves behind her two precious daughters, Sydney and Skylar, who were the absolute center of her universe. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, and everything she did was grounded in her desire to provide them with a life filled with love, stability, and opportunity. Her role as a mother was not only one of duty, but of pure joy. She celebrated their victories, nurtured their dreams, and stood as their greatest supporter through life’s highs and lows.

A proud Paterson native, Michelle was deeply connected to her community. She was known as someone who would give without expecting anything in return—always ready to lend a listening ear, offer a helping hand, or speak words of encouragement. Whether volunteering at local schools, supporting neighborhood initiatives, or simply being a reliable friend and neighbor, Michelle lived with a spirit of service and grace.

Professionally, Michelle was respected by colleagues and admired for her work ethic, intelligence, and poise. She brought integrity and care into everything she did. But above all else, she will be remembered for the way she made people feel—seen, valued, and loved.

Her passing has left a tremendous void not only in the lives of her daughters but also within the fabric of the community she helped weave together with kindness and empathy. As Sydney and Skylar now face the unimaginable journey of moving forward without their mother, they are surrounded by a community that is rallying to support them with love, guidance, and unwavering care. Family, friends, neighbors, and local organizations are all stepping in to honor Michelle’s legacy by helping her daughters find strength and hope in this new chapter.

In these difficult days, we ask that everyone keep Sydney and Skylar in your thoughts and prayers. May they find comfort in the countless stories being shared about their mother’s impact, and may they carry forward her legacy of warmth, generosity, and love.

A memorial service celebrating Michelle’s life will be announced in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to a trust fund being established for Sydney and Skylar’s future education and well-being—a cause Michelle deeply believed in.

Though Michelle Glisson is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains ever present—in her daughters’ bright smiles, in the lives she touched, and in the hearts of all who carry her memory forward. Her love was a light, and that light will never go out.

TRAGIC CONFIRMATION: Body Found in Lake Identified as Missing Woman Rachel Booth

ENGLAND – In a heartbreaking development, authorities have confirmed that the body recovered from a lake earlier this week is that of Rachel Booth, the 32-year-old woman who had been reported missing several days prior. The confirmation was made following a thorough forensic examination and identification process conducted by local police.

Rachel Booth was last seen by her family on the evening of July 14th. Her disappearance triggered a widespread search effort involving local police forces, search and rescue teams, and countless volunteers from the community. As hours turned to days, hope began to dwindle, but her loved ones remained steadfast, clinging to any glimmer of possibility that she would return safely.

Tragically, those hopes were shattered when a passerby discovered a body in the waters of a local lake near the village of Langmere. Emergency services were called immediately, and a recovery operation was launched. The area was quickly cordoned off as forensic teams worked tirelessly to identify the remains.

Late Sunday night, authorities officially confirmed the worst. The body was indeed Rachel Booth. Though the investigation is ongoing, initial assessments do not suggest foul play, and officers are treating her death as non-suspicious at this stage. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to determine the precise cause of death.

    A Community in Mourning

The news has sent shockwaves through the quiet community where Rachel was known and loved. Friends, family, neighbors, and strangers alike gathered at a local church last night to hold a vigil in her memory. Candles were lit, tears were shed, and stories were shared about a woman remembered for her vibrant spirit, warm smile, and deep compassion for others.

Rachel worked as a teaching assistant at a nearby primary school and was adored by her students and colleagues. Tributes have poured in from all corners of the community. Her headteacher described her as “a beacon of light” whose impact would be felt for years to come.

“Rachel had this incredible way of making every child feel seen and heard,” said her colleague Sarah Thompson. “She was more than just a coworker—she was family to us.”

Her family, in a brief but emotional statement released through the police, said:

“We are utterly devastated by the loss of Rachel. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. Our hearts are broken beyond words. We ask for privacy as we try to navigate the enormity of this grief.”

    Ongoing Investigation

While foul play is not currently suspected, authorities are continuing their inquiries to build a complete picture of Rachel’s final hours. CCTV footage, phone records, and witness interviews are all being reviewed to determine what led her to the lake and whether any other factors may have contributed to her death.

Detective Inspector Laura Kendall, leading the investigation, emphasized that while the case appears to be a tragic accident, the department is taking great care to ensure no detail is overlooked.

“This is an incredibly painful time for Rachel’s family and the community. We are doing everything we can to provide answers and to support her loved ones throughout this difficult process.”

    A Lasting Legacy

Rachel Booth’s death is an unspeakable loss. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, students, and the many lives she touched during her life. In the coming days, the community plans to organize a memorial walk and establish a scholarship fund in her name to support children in need—one final act of love in memory of a woman who gave so much.

As flowers pile up by the lakeside and online tributes continue to grow, one message rings clear: Rachel Booth was deeply loved, and she will never be forgotten.

    May she rest in peace.

Academic Coordinator – Ateneo de Davao University, School of Nursing

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude that we bid farewell to Dr. Apple G. Alvarez, RN, MN, PhD, DNS, our beloved Academic Coordinator of the Ateneo de Davao University – School of Nursing (SON). Her unexpected passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know, work with, and learn from her. Her legacy, however, will continue to inspire and guide the entire SON community for generations to come.

Dr. Alvarez was more than an academic administrator — she was the pillar of the nursing school, the soul of the academic structure, and the silent strength behind many of the school’s proudest accomplishments. A brilliant scholar and a visionary educator, she shaped the curriculum with deep care and intent, ensuring that every component of the program served not only the professional standards of nursing but the moral and human values at the core of Jesuit education.

Throughout her years of service, Dr. Alvarez was known for her unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and compassion. She held every student to a high standard, not out of rigidity, but because she believed in their potential and wanted to see them rise. She infused her leadership with kindness and fairness, always ready to listen and offer guidance, whether it was a student struggling with clinical rotations or a faculty member navigating academic challenges.

She was not just a mentor to many — she was a second mother, a confidante, and a trusted friend. Her wisdom was matched only by her warmth. It was not uncommon to see her walking the halls of the nursing building offering a reassuring smile or sharing quiet words of encouragement that had lasting impact. Many alumni and current students can attest that they would not be where they are today without her steady presence and belief in their capabilities.

As a researcher and scholar, Dr. Alvarez also made significant contributions to the field of nursing education, pushing the boundaries of traditional pedagogy and exploring innovative methods of instruction, learning, and care. She advocated for evidence-based practice and the holistic development of nurses — not only as caregivers, but as leaders, advocates, and change-makers in society. Her passion for nursing transcended the classroom; it was a vocation deeply rooted in service, love, and justice.

To her colleagues, Dr. Alvarez was a compass and a collaborator. She offered mentorship, fostered unity, and upheld the values of professionalism and ethical conduct. Her calm demeanor, sharp intellect, and collaborative spirit cultivated a work environment where every member of the faculty and staff felt valued and heard.

The grief of her passing is profound, but it is interwoven with immense gratitude — for the time we had with her, for the lessons she imparted, and for the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Her life was a testament to servant leadership, intellectual rigor, and boundless compassion. In mourning her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the many lives she touched along the way.

As we navigate the days ahead without her physical presence, we hold on tightly to her memory. We will continue to uphold the standards she set, to nurture the dreams she planted, and to live out the mission she so passionately embodied.

To our beloved Dr. Apple G. Alvarez — thank you for everything. Your light will never be extinguished. You will forever be a part of the Ateneo de Davao School of Nursing family. Rest in peace and eternal glory.

With deepest sympathy and boundless respect,
The Ateneo de Davao – School of Nursing Community

  • Remembering Kirby: The Man Who Epitomized Inner Beauty

Remembering Kirby: The Man Who Epitomized Inner Beauty

BURLINGTON, VT — The world lost a truly remarkable soul on July 11 with the passing of Kirby, a Burlington native who touched lives far beyond his quiet Vermont community. Kirby wasn’t a household name, but for those who knew him—and many more who saw him in a now-iconic role—he represented something rare and enduring: inner beauty.

Kirby first came to national attention when acclaimed filmmaker Peter Farrelly cast him in the 2001 romantic comedy Shallow Hal, starring Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow. In a film known for challenging conventional standards of beauty, Kirby stood out—not just for his appearance, but for the quiet dignity, kindness, and authenticity he brought to the screen. His role was brief, but unforgettable.

At the time of casting, Farrelly explained why he chose Kirby. “We were looking for someone who epitomized inner beauty,” Farrelly said. “And the moment I met Kirby, I knew we had found him. He had this light in his eyes, this deep compassion in how he spoke to people. He was genuine, through and through.”

Kirby’s presence in Shallow Hal was not a performance in the traditional sense; he wasn’t acting. He was simply being himself—warm, thoughtful, and humble. Viewers were deeply moved by the way Kirby’s character radiated goodness and compassion, standing as a counterpoint to society’s often superficial focus on physical appearance.

But Kirby’s legacy goes far beyond a movie role.

Back in Burlington, he was a beloved figure. Friends remember his soft-spoken nature, his unshakable optimism, and the way he made everyone feel seen and valued. He was a frequent volunteer at local shelters, a friend to the elderly, and a mentor to young people struggling to find their way. In a world often obsessed with status and image, Kirby chose instead to build a life rooted in service, sincerity, and love.

Local café owner Margot Lively recalled, “Kirby used to come in every morning, order his usual tea, and take the time to ask how everyone was doing—like really ask. He remembered birthdays, anniversaries, names of customers’ kids. He made people feel special.”

Another friend added, “You never left a conversation with Kirby without feeling lighter, more hopeful. He had a way of reminding you of what really mattered.”

Even after the film’s release and the brief brush with Hollywood, Kirby remained unchanged. He never sought fame or accolades. He returned home, resumed his life, and continued to serve his community in quiet, profound ways. “Fame didn’t impress him,” said longtime friend and neighbor Allen Greene. “What impressed him was kindness, integrity, and courage in the everyday.”

Peter Farrelly, upon hearing of Kirby’s passing, released a heartfelt tribute:

“Kirby was one of those rare souls who reminded you of the goodness in humanity. He made our film better, but more importantly, he made the world better. I am deeply saddened by his loss but so grateful to have known him, even briefly.”

Kirby’s passing leaves a deep void, not only in the lives of those who knew him personally but also in the hearts of anyone who came across his story—whether through Shallow Hal or through the ripple effects of his compassion and grace.

As we remember Kirby, we are reminded that beauty isn’t about what we see—it’s about how we make others feel. Kirby made the world feel like a kinder, more accepting place. And for that, he will never be forgotten.

He is survived by family, dear friends, and a grateful community. A memorial service will be held in Burlington later this month, and those wishing to honor Kirby’s life are encouraged to make donations to local shelters or youth programs in his name.

Rest in peace, Kirby. Thank you for showing the world what true beauty looks like.

  • ROYAL FAMILY IN SHOCK — WILLIAM AND HARRY REEL AFTER COUSIN ROSIE ROCHE, 20, FOUND DEAD

ROYAL FAMILY IN SHOCK — WILLIAM AND HARRY REEL AFTER COUSIN ROSIE ROCHE, 20, FOUND DEAD

ROYAL FAMILY IN SHOCK — WILLIAM AND HARRY REEL AFTER COUSIN ROSIE ROCHE, 20, FOUND DEAD

The British Royal Family has been plunged into mourning following the tragic and untimely death of Rosie Roche, a 20-year-old cousin of Princes William and Harry. The devastating news has sent shockwaves not only through Buckingham Palace but around the world, as millions react to the heartbreaking announcement. Rosie’s sudden passing has stirred a rare public sorrow from the usually private royal circle, and tributes have poured in from across the Commonwealth.

According to sources close to the palace, Rosie was found deceased under as-yet-unexplained circumstances earlier this week. While full details have not been officially released, officials confirmed that the young royal relative was discovered in her private residence. Emergency services were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the location. An investigation is reportedly underway to determine the cause of death, though foul play is not suspected at this time.

Princes William and Harry are said to be “extremely shocked and heartbroken” by the loss of Rosie, whom they reportedly remained close with despite the physical and emotional distance that has grown within the family in recent years. A palace insider stated, “This has been an absolutely shattering blow to both of them. Rosie was young, full of life, and dearly loved by the extended family. Her absence will be felt forever.”

Rosie Roche was known for her gentle spirit, her love of the arts, and her involvement in humanitarian projects. A distant cousin to the princes, she often shied away from the spotlight but was deeply admired by those who knew her for her kindness, her creativity, and her humble approach to her unique position in the royal lineage. She had recently begun studying psychology and was said to be passionate about youth mental health — an area close to both William and Harry’s hearts.

The young royal had also been involved with several low-profile charities and was a quiet force behind initiatives aimed at helping vulnerable youth across the U.K. Her death has left a gaping hole in the royal circle and among the causes she supported.

Buckingham Palace released a short but emotional statement on behalf of the family:
“We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Rosie Roche. She was a beloved member of our family whose bright spirit and compassionate heart touched everyone she met. At this time, we ask for privacy as we come to terms with this tremendous loss.”

Kensington Palace also confirmed that Prince William has canceled several upcoming engagements to grieve privately with his immediate family. Meanwhile, Prince Harry, currently in California, is reported to be “in close contact” with family members in the UK and “absolutely devastated.” There is speculation that he may return to Britain to attend Rosie’s funeral services, which are expected to be held privately in the coming week.

Public figures and friends close to the family have also expressed their grief, with many taking to social media to honor Rosie’s life. One family friend wrote, “Rosie was a quiet light in the world — so bright, so thoughtful. I can’t believe she’s gone.”

Outside Buckingham Palace, members of the public have already begun to leave flowers, handwritten notes, and photographs at the gates in honor of the young royal. Many have spoken of how connected they feel to the family’s grief, particularly given Rosie’s age and the tragic nature of her passing.

While the Royal Family has known its share of public loss and heartbreak, the death of someone so young, so full of promise, has stirred a particularly profound reaction. This is not simply a royal tragedy — it is a human one. The pain of losing someone at just 20 years old transcends status or lineage. It is a wound that cuts through every generation, every class, every nation.

As the world mourns alongside the monarchy, one thing remains clear: Rosie Roche may have walked quietly through the world, but the echo of her life — and her untimely death — has been thunderous.

    May she rest in peace.
