Authorities in Trenton, New Jersey, are actively investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning, leaving one man critically injured. The incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m. when an unidentified male arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel immediately transported the victim into emergency surgery, and he remains in critical condition as of the latest reports.

Upon notification from the hospital, Trenton police responded promptly and determined that the shooting took place near the intersection of Hoffman Avenue and Eisenhower Avenue. At the scene, officers recovered shell casings and gathered initial witness accounts. Witnesses reported seeing a Black male wearing dark clothing fleeing the area immediately after the gunfire. The suspect remains at large, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under active investigation.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified and is assisting with the case. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.

Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where the victim is being treated, is a Level II trauma center located at 750 Brunswick Avenue in Trenton. As a state-designated trauma center, it provides comprehensive emergency services and specialized care for critically injured patients.
