It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the unexpected passing of Tamika Quinn, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, who departed this life far too soon on June 4, 2025, in Austin, Texas. She was just 45 years old.

Tamika was born on April 18, 1980, in Austin, where she would go on to spend the majority of her life, deeply rooted in the community she cherished. She grew up surrounded by love, raised by her devoted mother, Clara Quinn, who instilled in her the values of compassion, strength, and resilience. From an early age, Tamika demonstrated a natural warmth and an infectious smile that could light up any room. Her laughter, genuine and bright, echoed through the lives of all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Crockett High School, Tamika had a passion for learning and a heart for people. She pursued studies in social work at Austin Community College, later transitioning into a career in healthcare administration. For over 15 years, she served with dedication and compassion at St. David’s Medical Center, where her coworkers affectionately referred to her as the “heart of the office.” She was known not only for her meticulous attention to detail but also for her unwavering kindness and grace under pressure.

Beyond her professional life, Tamika’s most cherished role was that of a mother. She was the proud mother of two children, Jaylen (19) and Amaya (14), whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Her world revolved around them, and she poured every ounce of her strength and spirit into ensuring their happiness and success. She was their biggest cheerleader at school performances, basketball games, and every step of their journey.

Tamika was a woman of quiet faith and deep convictions. She was a longtime member of New Light Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered regularly for outreach programs, particularly those supporting single mothers and underserved youth. She gave freely of her time and heart, believing that even the smallest act of kindness could change a life.

Her presence was a gift—a gentle soul who never sought attention but always made people feel seen. Friends and family describe Tamika as genuine, reliable, and unshakably loving. She had a unique way of making those around her feel safe, understood, and uplifted. Whether through a warm hug, a late-night phone call, or a handwritten note left on a coworker’s desk, Tamika’s kindness lived in small, unforgettable moments.

Tamika is survived by her beloved children, Jaylen and Amaya Quinn; her mother, Clara Quinn; her sister, LaShonda Quinn; her nieces and nephews; her extended family; and a wide circle of friends, coworkers, and neighbors who were all blessed by her presence.

A public memorial service celebrating Tamika’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 11 a.m. at New Light Baptist Church, 607 Kemp Street, Austin, TX. Friends are encouraged to bring photos and stories to share. A private interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the “Tamika Quinn Memorial Fund” to support the future educational needs of her children.

Though Tamika’s life was unexpectedly cut short, the legacy she leaves behind is one of love, integrity, and unwavering compassion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

“The good they do never dies. It lives on in the way they touched others.
