This aerial support is part of a broader, multi-agency operation spanning rugged wilderness areas, including national forests and remote campgrounds.

Aerial Support Enhances Search Efforts

The SCSO helicopters, equipped with thermal imaging technology, are conducting aerial surveillance over vast and challenging terrains in Chelan County. These efforts are crucial in locating Decker, a former military member with extensive survival training, who is believed to be capable of enduring in the wilderness for extended periods with minimal equipment.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is leading the investigation, coordinating with multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security, and the U.S. Forest Service. The collaborative efforts aim to leverage all available resources to locate and apprehend Decker.

Community Involvement and Ongoing Investigation

The community has played a significant role in the search, with numerous tips received and offers of assistance from off-road vehicle owners and backcountry experts. Authorities have expressed gratitude for this support, emphasizing the collective commitment to bringing Decker to justice.

A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading to Decker’s arrest. He is described as 5’8″, 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts.
