The Nashville faith community is reeling after a devastating crash on Interstate 65 North claimed the lives of three beloved members of New Season Church last Sunday morning. Among the victims were Minister Tavaran Ridley, his 8-year-old son Deuce, and his 2-year-old niece Esther — all taken far too soon as they were on their way to worship.
According to authorities, the crash happened as the family was traveling toward the church for Sunday service. The loss has left a deep and painful void, not only within their family but across the entire congregation, where Minister Ridley’s presence was known for his compassionate spirit, uplifting sermons, and unwavering dedication to serving others.
On Sunday, New Season Church held a special remembrance service to honor their lives, offering a space for prayer, reflection, and shared grief. Congregants filled the sanctuary, many holding hands and embracing one another through tears, as stories and memories were shared about the joy and love Tavaran, Deuce, and Esther brought into the lives of everyone they met.
Pastor and fellow ministers spoke of Minister Ridley’s deep faith, his role as a spiritual leader, and his profound commitment to guiding others toward hope and healing. Friends remembered little Deuce as a bright, curious boy who loved being by his father’s side and participating in church activities. Esther, though only two years old, was described as a sweet and joyful soul whose laughter could light up any room.
“We don’t just lose members of our church,” one congregant said through tears. “We lose family. And this family has lost so much in one moment.”
In the wake of the tragedy, the community has rallied together to support the Ridley family and extended relatives. A memorial fund has been set up to help cover funeral expenses and provide for the surviving family members.
As the investigation into the crash continues, the congregation is leaning heavily on their shared faith, finding comfort in scripture and in each other. The memory of Tavaran, Deuce, and Esther will remain forever etched in the heart of the church they loved so dearly.
For now, New Season Church moves forward with heavy hearts, holding on to the belief that the three are together in peace, and that one day, they will be reunited in eternal joy.
