Justin Macdonald’s father confirmed on Facebook that the body discovered on Monday is that of his son.
“Well want everyone to know unofficial because it’s not confirmed by forensic or major crime We have found our son we know 100 % but we need to Thank alot of people but with so many people missing Justin is coming home So this is the fastest way to respond i don’t have to search anymore”
The family had searched tirelessly for 322 days, never losing hope. It was during one of their searches along Morley Road on Monday evening, around 5 p.m., that they made the heartbreaking discovery.
The family is confident the remains belong to Justin, having recognized his clothing and a distinctive bracelet. However, until official confirmation is made, the police are not in a position to issue a formal statement.
In sharing the news, Macdonald’s father offered a message of hope to other families with missing loved ones:
“Don’t give up. Don’t stop searching.”
Justin is coming home to his family, may he now rest in peace
Next step: Justice.
Three men who were arrested in December 2024 are unlikely to welcome today’s news.
Aaron Curtis Mickey, 45, faces charges of second-degree murder, robbery, and four firearm-related offences.
Ryan Joseph Pyke, 36, has been charged with second-degree murder and robbery.
Mitchell McPhee, 38, is charged with manslaughter, robbery, and assault.
The legal process now moves forward as the search for justice continues.
