Our hearts are heavy as we send love and prayers to the family and friends of Pharra Jones, the 18-year-old young woman who was tragically shot and killed last Sunday in the Concord Place area.

Just before 1 p.m., police responded to a crash near North Kingshighway and Bircher Boulevards in the Mark Twain neighborhood. When they arrived, they found Pharra dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. The other driver involved in the crash was taken to the hospital. At this time, police do not believe that individual was involved in the shooting.

Investigators believe the shooting may have started in the 4200 block of Red Bud Avenue in the O’Fallon neighborhood, but details about what led up to the violence remain unclear.

Pharra was just 18. A baby girl with her whole life ahead of her. She should have been planning her future not having her life cut short by senseless gunfire.

We are praying deeply for her family, and her friends as they try to process this devastating loss. No parent should have to bury their child. No friend should have to mourn someone so young.
