We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Ray — affectionately known as Dad and Pop — passed away this morning. He left this world just as he lived in it: peacefully, quietly, and with deep grace, surrounded by the unwavering love of those who meant the world to him.
It is nearly impossible to capture the life and spirit of a man like Ray in words. To many, he was a gentle presence — calm, steadfast, and filled with quiet wisdom. To us, he was so much more. He was our foundation, our guide, our compass in moments of uncertainty. He didn’t need to raise his voice to be heard; he didn’t seek the spotlight to make a difference. Ray’s impact was in the everyday moments — the steady hand on a shoulder, the way he remembered every birthday, the long conversations over coffee, the stories he shared with a twinkle in his eye, and the way he listened — really listened — when you needed it most.
As a father, he gave his children the kind of love that is both strong and soft — rooted in patience, kindness, and unwavering support. He taught by example: integrity, hard work, and humility weren’t just values he spoke about — they were values he lived, day in and day out. He never missed a school play, a game, or a quiet moment when we needed to talk. No matter what was going on in his life, he always made time. He was our steady light in every storm.
As a grandfather, “Pop” was a storyteller, a cuddler, a laugh-out-loud kind of man who made everything feel like home. His lap was a safe haven for little ones, his advice a trusted roadmap for the older grandkids finding their way in life. Whether it was fishing on a quiet morning, teaching how to tie a tie, or showing how to live with integrity, Pop’s legacy will live on in the lives he shaped.
To his friends and community, Ray was a man who could always be counted on. He was the guy who showed up — early and with a smile — ready to lend a hand, crack a quiet joke, or simply sit with someone who needed a little company. He gave his time freely and his heart fully, never asking for anything in return.
This morning, as he slipped from this life into the next, he did so in the same way he lived — gently, without fanfare, surrounded by those who cherished him most. There was no fear, only love. No pain, only peace. His passing was not an end, but a soft and beautiful turning of a page.
We are devastated by the void his absence leaves, yet immeasurably grateful for the many years we were blessed to share with him. His was a life well lived — not because of accolades or achievements — but because of the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the legacy he leaves behind.
In the days ahead, we will gather to honor Ray’s life, share stories, shed tears, and laugh through the memories that remind us just how lucky we were to call him ours. Until then, we carry him in our hearts, every beat echoing with the warmth, love, and quiet strength he gave us every single day.
Rest peacefully, Dad. Rest peacefully, Pop. You are so deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
