In your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Deacon Paul Anthony Ullucci, a beloved servant of God and faithful deacon of the Diocese of Providence, who was called home to the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2025. His passing marks the end of a life lived in deep devotion to Christ, the Church, and to the people he so tirelessly served.
Born with a heart for others and raised in a home where faith and compassion were foundational values, Deacon Paul discerned his vocation to the diaconate with humility and steadfast purpose. Ordained a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Providence, he embraced his ministry with quiet strength, always seeking to embody the love of Christ in both word and action. Whether preaching the Gospel, preparing couples for marriage, assisting at baptisms, or visiting the sick and elderly, Deacon Paul served as a bridge between the sacred and the everyday—making the presence of Christ felt in homes, parishes, and hospitals across the diocese.
Deacon Paul was known not only for his reverence at the altar, but for his gentleness and kindness in the community. He believed in being present for those in need, offering a listening ear, a prayerful heart, and practical help whenever he could. Many remember his visits to the homebound, his thoughtful homilies that brought Scripture alive, and his presence at countless funerals, where his calming words helped grieving families feel God’s peace amid sorrow.
To his fellow deacons, clergy, and parishioners, Deacon Paul was a brother in faith, a man of deep prayer, humility, and wisdom. He never sought recognition, but simply wished to serve. His ministry extended beyond the walls of the church—into prisons, food pantries, schools, and anywhere there was hurt or need. He carried the Gospel not only in his hands but in his heart, and lived the Beatitudes with quiet fidelity.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, Deacon Paul’s witness continues to echo in the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and unwavering faith. His death is a profound loss for the Diocese of Providence, but we hold fast to the hope and promise of the Resurrection.
We commend Deacon Paul Anthony Ullucci to the mercy of God, trusting that the Good Shepherd, whom he served so faithfully, has welcomed him into the joy of eternal life.
Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
