Cambridge Police Investigating Fatal Shooting Near Westside Bypass and Hudson Road

The Cambridge Police Department has launched a full-scale investigation following a fatal shooting that occurred earlier today in the vicinity of the Westside Bypass and Hudson Road. Authorities have confirmed that one individual has died as a result of the incident, though the identity of the victim has not yet been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
According to initial reports, officers responded to the scene shortly after receiving a call about gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched, but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
In response to the severity of the incident, the Cambridge Police Department has joined forces with the Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit. Residents in the surrounding neighborhood have expressed concern and sorrow over the tragic event. Some reported hearing a series of loud bangs early in the day but did not immediately realize a shooting had taken place. The area, which is typically quiet and residential, has been shaken by the sudden violence.
The Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office has pledged its full support in prosecuting any individuals found responsible.
