In Loving Memory of Summer Poole (1997–2025)
It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that we share the tragic passing of Summer Poole, a vibrant 28-year-old woman from New Ellenton, South Carolina, whose life was cut short far too soon on the evening of Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Summer was doing what she loved—riding her motorcycle, feeling the summer wind on her face, enjoying the freedom of the open road—when the unimaginable happened. In a heartbreaking moment that forever altered the lives of those who loved her, a vehicle turned directly into her path, leading to a fatal collision. Authorities say the driver and passenger of the vehicle were both under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, a senseless and preventable act that took a beautiful soul from this world.
Summer was more than just a statistic in a tragic accident. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a light to everyone who knew her. Her mother, devastated by the loss, spoke through tears as she described Summer as “a fearless spirit with a heart full of love and a soul that lit up every room.” She was known for her kindness, her laughter that could fill the air like music, and her deep empathy for others. Whether she was helping a friend through a tough time, rescuing stray animals, or simply offering a smile to a stranger, Summer radiated warmth.
Born in 1997, Summer grew up in New Ellenton with a passion for adventure. She had a zest for life that couldn’t be contained—she loved the outdoors, music festivals, spontaneous road trips, and most of all, her motorcycle. To her, riding was freedom, peace, and therapy all in one. Friends describe her as someone who lived life “all the way up,” never backing down from a challenge, and never hesitating to stand up for what she believed in.
Summer’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through her community. Vigils have been held, and a memorial ride is already being planned by fellow motorcyclists and loved ones to honor her memory. “She deserved better,” her mother said. “She deserved more time, more life. She had dreams, goals, plans. And someone’s reckless decision stole all of that.”
The family is calling for justice and accountability, as well as raising awareness about the devastating consequences of driving under the influence. They hope that sharing Summer’s story might save another life. “We don’t want another family to go through this pain,” her mother said. “If Summer’s death can change even one person’s choice—to call a ride, to take a key away, to speak up—it won’t make this right, but it will mean her life made a difference.”
As we remember Summer, let us not only mourn her loss but celebrate her life. Her legacy lives on in the laughter she brought, the hearts she touched, and the passion she had for living boldly and loving fiercely.
She is survived by her loving mother, siblings, extended family, countless friends, and a community that will never forget her radiant spirit. In honor of Summer Poole, may we all be a little more courageous, a little more kind, and a lot more mindful of how our actions affect others.
Rest in peace, Summer. Your journey here ended too soon, but your spirit rides on. 🕊️💔🛣️
