The tragic death of 15-year-old Jaymir Deshea Hill has left the Wyoming, Ohio, community in mourning. On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Jaymir was fatally shot at the intersection of Burns and Washington Avenues. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to reports of shots fired around 3:49 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Jaymir with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Despite immediate medical attention and transport to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries .
Jaymir was a ninth-grade student at Northwest Local School District, where he was remembered as a “great kid” who loved playing games and was well-mannered. The district expressed deep sadness over his death and is working to provide support to students, staff, and the family during this difficult time .
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming Police Department are investigating the incident. Witnesses reported that multiple suspects fled the scene on foot after the shooting.
