It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maddison Elizabeth Kendrick, age 18, of Mattoon, Illinois. Maddison passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, leaving behind a family, circle of friends, and community who will forever cherish her memory.
Funeral services honoring Maddison’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Zion Hill Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will take place the same day, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until the start of the service, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather, share memories, and offer their support to one another.
Maddison was born on November 15, 2006, in Perryville, Missouri. From the very beginning, she brought light and joy into the lives of everyone she met. Her family remembers her as a vibrant, loving, and compassionate young woman with a kind heart and a strong spirit.
She is survived by her loving mother, Cassandra (Aaron) Davis of Pensacola, Florida; her father, Justin Hendrix of Mattoon, Illinois; and her uncles, Jason (Nicki) Hendrix of Effingham, Illinois, and Josh [last name, if applicable]. Maddison’s extended family, friends, and community will continue to carry her memory in their hearts, remembering the joy she brought into their lives.
Maddison’s life, though far too short, was filled with moments that reflected her caring nature and love for others. Whether it was sharing laughter with friends, offering comfort to those in need, or simply brightening a room with her smile, Maddison had a way of making people feel valued and loved. Her memory will serve as a reminder of the importance of kindness, compassion, and living each day to its fullest.
