His passing marks the close of a life defined by hard work, dedication to his craft, deep devotion to his loved ones, and an enduring connection to both his Lebanese heritage and his adopted American home.
Born in Lebanon, Pierre was the beloved son of the late Chukri and Olga (Madani) Chakar. He grew up in Lebanon, where he received his education and developed the skills that would shape his life’s work. A talented carpenter and interior designer, Pierre had an exceptional eye for detail and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. His work was more than a profession — it was a passion that reflected his creativity, precision, and pride in doing things well.
In 1997, Pierre immigrated to the United States, settling in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he continued to share his skills and expertise. He worked with Chamberlain Cabinet Company, where his artistry and commitment quickly earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients. After years of dedicated service, Pierre retired in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of quality workmanship and a reputation for integrity in his field.
Though proud of his professional accomplishments, Pierre’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Aida (Abou Samra) Chakar, and a loving father to his sons, Charbel and Chadi. He treasured time spent with them and their families, finding happiness in simple moments — whether gathered around a family meal, celebrating milestones, or sharing stories from his youth in Lebanon. He also cherished visits with extended family in Lebanon, maintaining close ties to the place and people who shaped his earliest years.
Pierre’s life was also enriched by his role as a grandfather to Ella, Brandon, Liam, and Luka, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy. His warmth, wisdom, and gentle humor will live on in their memories, as will the many lessons he imparted through his words and example.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Jeannette Khoury, Mariette Hajali, Fouad, Rageb, and Rizkallah Chakar, whose memories he carried with him always. Pierre is survived by his brothers, John Chakar of Lawrence, MA; George Chakar and his wife Sadie of Lawrence, MA; and Samir Chakar of Windham, NH. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him for his generosity, humility, and unwavering love for family.
Pierre’s passing leaves a deep void, but his life will be remembered as one of love, resilience, and devotion. His craftsmanship, kindness, and family-first values will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family, and loved ones are invited to come together to honor Pierre’s life, share memories, and celebrate the legacy of a man whose hands built beauty and whose heart built a family.
