Jacob “Jake” Marcum, 36, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away on July 26, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife Kristen, their children Harrison and Nora, and family

Although his battle with cancer was not won, he is now at peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Jake was born on August 6, 1988, in Lewiston, Maine, to Randall Marcum and Julie Dresser. He was raised in the Twin City area alongside his brother, Justin Marcum. Jake held a lifelong love for his home state, returning often with his family—even during his military years—to share its beauty and meaning with those he loved.

Jake married Kristen, originally of Turner, Maine, on August 12, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they built a life grounded in devotion, laughter, and adventure. Jake was a present, playful, and active father—whether supporting Nora’s dance dreams or cheering from the sidelines at Harrison’s football, soccer, and hockey games. He was also a cherished uncle to eight nieces and nephews.

Jake proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, specializing in electronic warfare countermeasures before transitioning into a special duty role as a recruiter. He approached his work with dedication and pride, knowing it provided stability and opportunity for his family. He remained resilient through multiple short tours to South Korea and other military demands.

Outside of service, Jake found joy in attending concerts, fishing with his kids, traveling to new places with Kristen and the children, and spending a day on the golf course. His steady presence, quiet strength, and dry wit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jake is survived by his wife, Kristen Marcum; his children, Harrison and Nora Marcum; his parents, Randall Marcum and Julie Dresser; his brother, Justin Marcum; his father- and mother-in-law, Dan and Darlene Tremblay; brother-in-law Dan Tremblay, wife Andrea, and their sons; sister-in-law Kara Gagnon, husband Brian, and their children; and sister-in-law Kimberly Orff, husband Jonah, and their children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Dora Marcum.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation for Jake on Thursday, August 14th, 2025 from 2PM to 4PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group Funeral Home 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway Lewiston, ME 04240. A Funeral Service to celebrate Jake’s life will be held on Friday, August 15th, 2025 at 11AM at East Auburn Baptist Church 560 Park Ave, Auburn, ME 04210.
