The Elkton community mourns the loss of Mrs. Cecilia Ann Mallory Dortch, age 57, who passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Surrounded by the love of her family and friends throughout her life, Cecilia leaves behind a legacy defined by kindness, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Born and raised with strong values of compassion and hard work, Cecilia touched countless lives with her warm spirit, generous heart, and ability to make everyone feel valued. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose life was a reflection of her deep love for her family and her steadfast faith in God.
Cecilia’s life was one of quiet strength and selfless service. She cherished moments spent with loved ones, whether gathering for family meals, celebrating milestones, or offering support in times of need. Her home was always a place of welcome, where laughter, comfort, and care could always be found.
Funeral services for Cecilia will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Latham Funeral Home, with Rev. Darrell Crawford officiating. In keeping with the family’s wishes, a private burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest in the peace and beauty of the place she so dearly loved.
Those who knew Cecilia will remember her for her gentle nature, her loyalty, and her ability to bring light to every room she entered. Though her time here feels far too short, the impact she made will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
