This is ripping my heart into many pieces. Today the S&S Family lost Gene Altizer. Gene was one hell of a racer but he was an even better friend, husband and father. We will always cherish the time that we got to spend with him and we all have beautiful memories that we will have forever

Today, the S&S Family is grieving a tremendous loss that has left our hearts shattered and heavy beyond words. Gene Altizer, a man whose spirit burned as brightly on the racetrack as it did in the lives of those who knew him, has passed from our midst. This is ripping my heart into many pieces because Gene was not just a fierce competitor and one hell of a racer — he was an even greater friend, husband, and father.

Gene’s passion for racing was legendary. On every track, under every condition, he gave it everything he had. His determination, skill, and fearless spirit earned him respect and admiration from competitors and fans alike. But beyond the roar of engines and the thrill of the race, Gene’s true greatness was in his kindness, his loyalty, and the warmth he carried into every relationship.

To call Gene a friend doesn’t even begin to cover the depth of what he meant to us. He was a rock, a source of unwavering support and laughter, a presence that could instantly lift a room and soothe a troubled heart. Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply being there through good times and bad, Gene’s friendship was a gift that enriched our lives beyond measure.
