The Members of the Bowmansville Volunteer Fire Association extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Chaplain Dan Curtis and his wife Julie as they navigate the unimaginable sorrow of losing their beloved son, Adam. Words feel profoundly inadequate in moments like these, but we want the Curtis family to know that they are not alone. We are standing with them in mourning, in remembrance, and in prayer.
Adam’s passing is a tragedy that has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was a young man of great character, full of promise, kindness, and compassion. His warm smile, his steady presence, and his willingness to serve will never be forgotten by those who had the honor of knowing him. Adam was not just a son, a brother, and a friend—he was also one of our own.
As a former member of Explorer Post 56, Adam was an integral part of our Bowmansville fire family. He stepped forward at a young age to be of service to others, embracing the values of duty, courage, and community. Adam’s time with us may have been brief in years, but the impact he made remains lasting. He exemplified the spirit of volunteerism and the heart of someone who genuinely cared for his community. The bonds formed during those formative years in the Explorer program are strong and enduring, and his memory will forever be etched into the history and spirit of our association.
Chaplain Curtis has long been a source of strength, compassion, and faith for our department, guiding us through our darkest hours and lifting us in prayer and purpose. Today, we grieve with him. We honor Adam’s life by holding close to one another and carrying forward the light he brought into the world, even in the face of sorrow.
To Dan and Julie: we cannot take away your pain, but we hope you find some comfort in knowing that your firehouse family mourns with you and supports you. May the memories of Adam’s beautiful life give you strength. May you feel the love and support of this community now and in the difficult days ahead.
Rest in peace, Adam. Your time with us will always be cherished. You will never be forgotten.
