It is with a heavy heart and unimaginable sorrow that I share some incredibly tragic news that has shaken the very core of my world. On the morning of Saturday, July 26, a devastating accident occurred on I-485 in Charlotte, North Carolina—an accident that claimed the lives of my beloved son, his girlfriend, and their two precious daughters. In a single, heartbreaking moment, an irreplaceable piece of my life was taken, and the weight of this loss is beyond words.

There are no words that can truly capture the anguish and grief that my family and I are enduring. My son was not only my child—he was a devoted father, a loving partner, and a light in so many lives. His girlfriend was a kind, radiant soul, full of life and warmth. Their two young daughters, so full of joy, laughter, and potential, were the center of their world. To lose them all at once feels like an unimaginable nightmare—one that we, as a family, must now somehow find the strength to endure.

As we navigate this time of deep mourning, I will be traveling to Gastonia, North Carolina to be with my family and to lay our loved ones to rest. In light of this, Wild Child Studios will be closed on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10. I hope you understand this necessary pause as we gather to grieve, to honor the beautiful lives that were lost, and to hold one another close during these painful days.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 9, with the funeral service to follow on Sunday, August 10. We invite all who knew and loved them to join us in remembering and celebrating their lives. Your presence, prayers, and kind words would mean more than you know as we attempt to find comfort and strength in the face of overwhelming sorrow.

To everyone who has already reached out with compassion and care—thank you. Your love and support have been a small beacon of light in this darkest of times. Whether through a message, a prayer, a meal, or simply holding space for our grief, your kindness has not gone unnoticed. It’s in moments like these that we’re reminded just how much we need each other, and how truly healing human connection can be.

This tragedy is a sobering reminder of how fragile and precious life is. Hug your children a little tighter, say “I love you” a little more often, and never take a moment for granted. We never know when our last day with someone might be.

Thank you all again for your patience, understanding, and for walking with me—however near or far—as I begin to face life after this devastating loss. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

With deepest gratitude and broken but enduring love,
