ANNOUNCEMENT: In Loving Memory of Steven – Our Vegan Bay Baker

It is with unimaginable sorrow and heartbreak that I share the sudden and unexpected passing of my beloved husband, Steven. As many of you know, Steve was the heart and soul behind The Vegan Bay Baker. He was not only a passionate creator and master of his craft, but also a gentle, generous, and deeply loved man who touched countless lives through his warmth, kindness, and incomparable bakes.

This devastating loss has left our family shattered in ways we can’t put into words. I am completely broken. There is a pain running through me that I have never known—a depth of grief I wasn’t prepared for, and still can’t comprehend. Steven was my partner in everything—life, love, family, and the business we built from the ground up. His sudden departure has left a void that nothing and no one can fill.

With Steven’s passing, we have made the difficult decision to cease trading The Vegan Bay Baker. This choice was not made lightly. The business was more than just a job for Steve—it was his dream, his legacy, and his daily joy. Every cake, every pie, every post, and every smiling customer meant the world to him. But without Steve, it simply can’t be the same.

To our loyal customers, followers, and supporters: thank you. Thank you for every kind word, every order, every moment of encouragement that kept Steve inspired. Your support not only helped our small business grow—it gave Steve purpose, pride, and a connection to his community that he cherished.

I ask you all to keep us in your thoughts as we navigate this new, painful reality—myself, our children, and his heartbroken mum and dad. We are doing our best to hold each other up, to breathe through the shock, and to begin piecing together a life that looks so very different now. Every message, every prayer, every candle lit in his memory means more than you know.

Steve was love in human form. He was laughter in the kitchen, flour on his sleeves, and compassion in everything he did. The world feels darker without him, but I hold on to the light he shared with so many of us. I will carry his memory forward for our children. I will speak his name daily. I will remember the beautiful life we had, no matter how painfully short it was.

Thank you again for your understanding, your patience, and your grace during this time. We ask that our privacy be respected as we grieve and gather the strength to take each new step forward.

With love and deep sorrow,
