Please Keep Academy Class 217 in Your Prayers: Remembering Sam “Shazaam” 💙
Our hearts are shattered once again, and we humbly ask for your thoughts, your prayers, and your support as we grieve the loss of another one of our own. Academy Class 217 has suffered a deep and painful blow with the sudden passing of our brother, our friend, our light — Sam, affectionately known to all as “Shazaam Sam.”
There are no words that can truly capture what Sam meant to us. He was more than a fellow recruit, more than a teammate. He was family. From day one, Sam brought an infectious energy into every room he entered — his smile was effortless, his spirit unmatched, and his commitment unwavering. Whether it was in the classroom, on the training grounds, or during the quiet in-between moments, Sam always carried himself with humility, grace, and a fierce passion for the work we were all called to do.
“Shazaam” wasn’t just a nickname; it was an embodiment of who Sam was — quick with a laugh, quicker with a helping hand, and never afraid to be exactly who he was. He lit up the room with his humor and grounded us with his wisdom. He carried us through the hardest days of training with jokes, pep talks, and sometimes just a quiet presence when we needed it most.
He was strong — not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and morally. He believed in the mission, in the oath we all swore, and in the power of serving others with integrity and compassion. And even more than that, he believed in people. He believed in us. He lifted his fellow recruits when they fell, celebrated every win no matter how small, and never let a teammate feel like they were alone.
Losing Sam is not just losing a classmate. It’s losing a brother. It’s losing a piece of the soul of Class 217.
The pain we feel is real, and it is deep. We are left grappling with the weight of his absence and the echoes of his laughter that now feel too far away. But we also know that to truly honor Sam, we must carry forward the light he gave us. We must serve with the same heart he did — fierce, full, and fearless.
To Sam’s family — we offer our deepest condolences. Thank you for sharing him with us. Know that he touched so many lives in his short time here and that his legacy will live on in every badge we wear and every life we touch.
And to Sam — we love you. We miss you. We will carry your memory in every step we take from this day forward. You will never be forgotten. Rest easy, Shazaam. Your watch is over, but your impact lives on.
Please keep Academy Class 217 in your thoughts as we mourn this tremendous loss. Together, we will continue forward, because that’s what Sam would want. But we will carry him with us — always.
Rest in peace, Sam 💙
Class 217 forever.
