He received outstanding at-home care through Amedisys Hospice staff, including Nicole Hipshire, Sarah Hodge, Josh Wolfe, and Shaunda Conley, for which his family will always be grateful. Originally from Benham, KY, his family moved to Morristown, TN when he was 6 years old. He graduated from Morristown High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball, and other sports, with great tenacity and athleticism to compensate for his small stature, according to teammates and others. Throughout his life, he participated in various local sports as an athlete, coach, referee, parent, and spectator. He was an avid outdoorsman, most content in the woods hunting or on the water fishing, and spent many years doing this with his buddies and family. He worked at Forest Products (later Universal Industries) from the age of 16 for 34 years until being disabled due to complications from spinal surgeries that progressively limited his mobility and quality of life throughout his later years. He is preceded in death by Stanley Rogan Fawbush (father), Lois Annette Fawbush (mother), and Joseph “Hoot” Carter Fawbush, Jr. (son). He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Jo Fawbush (Green), brothers, Dicky (Dot) and Micky (Kay) Fawbush, and his children: Tammy Lyn Murr (Larry Fowler), Elizabeth Crews, Scott (Sarah) Bunch, Lesley (Ty) Burdine, Kasey (Brad) Houck, and Kristy (Kevin) Tippins. He was the proud grandfather of Lucas (Nicole) Sizemore, Courtney (David) Degrie, Ashton (Geordi) Tincher, Madison (Brad) Ramsey, William Crews, Tucker, Anna, Emma, and Clay Houck, Lucy Jo Burdine, and Archer and Durham Tippins. He was the great-grandfather of Alyssa and Nolan Sizemore, Christian and Brooklyn Degrie, Ella Tincher, and Bryer and Baker Ramsey. He was a constant provider, hard worker, and selfless man with a great sense of humor, passion for and enjoyment of sports, hunting, and the outdoors, who loved and prioritized his entire family above all. His life consistently demonstrated the values of humility, simplicity, fairness, forgiveness, responsibility, friendliness, and perseverance in a way that enabled him to raise, challenge, and inspire his family to live out a legacy like his.The family will receive friends and celebrate his life at the Houck residence (his daughter Kasey’s) on Monday, July 28, from 1:00-4:30 p.m., at which time they will proceed to the 5:00 p.m. graveside service.
