With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of JoAnn Hendrix Beasley, age 89, of Statesboro, Georgia. JoAnn departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on the morning of July 22, 2025. Her radiant spirit, unwavering positivity, and timeless elegance left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege to know her.

JoAnn was more than a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—she was a force of nature, a woman of grace, wit, and boundless charm. Known throughout the community for her infectious personality and impeccable style, JoAnn carried herself with a confidence and warmth that made everyone around her feel at ease. She never entered a room without lighting it up with her sparkling eyes, perfectly coiffed hair, and signature lipstick shade that matched her radiant smile.

Born in 1936 in Savannah, Georgia, JoAnn was the oldest of three siblings. Her Southern roots instilled in her a strong sense of family, hospitality, and tradition—values she carried proudly throughout her life. From an early age, she exuded a love for fashion, often styling her friends’ outfits in high school and even winning local pageants. JoAnn had a rare gift for expressing herself through color, design, and flair. Her wardrobe was the stuff of legend—elegant, vibrant, always put together just right—and her style inspired many.

JoAnn’s true happy place was the beach. Whether it was the shores of Tybee Island or a sunny getaway to the Gulf Coast, she came alive by the water. She adored the feel of the warm sand under her feet, the gentle ocean breeze in her hair, and the soothing rhythm of the waves. To her, the beach wasn’t just a destination; it was a sanctuary. She would spend hours soaking in the sun with a good book, a sunhat that matched her swimsuit, and a cold sweet tea in hand. It was where she felt closest to peace, and where she made countless cherished memories with her family and friends.

Her zest for life was contagious. JoAnn loved a good laugh, a bold lipstick, a strong cup of coffee, and a game of cards with loved ones. She had a unique ability to make even the simplest of gatherings feel special. Whether it was a backyard barbecue, a holiday dinner, or just an afternoon chat on the porch, JoAnn brought sparkle and joy to every occasion.

Above all, JoAnn was devoted to her family. She was the proud matriarch of the Beasley family, a role she took to heart with grace and unwavering love. She was a steadfast supporter, a tireless encourager, and a listening ear. She offered wisdom with humor, discipline with compassion, and love with no conditions. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she took immense pride in watching each of them grow.

JoAnn leaves behind a legacy built on laughter, kindness, elegance, and strength. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched.

A celebration of JoAnn Hendrix Beasley’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their favorite stories, laughter, and tears in honor of JoAnn’s beautiful journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to The American Cancer Society or Tybee Island Marine Science Center, two causes JoAnn held close to her heart.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that JoAnn is now basking in eternal sunshine, walking along a heavenly shoreline with a smile on her face and the breeze in her hair. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Rest in peace, JoAnn. Thank you for the love, the laughter, and the legacy.
