In Loving Memory of K.C. Chrisman – A Cherished Member of Lexington
Lexington, NE — With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the tragic passing of K.C. Chrisman, a beloved 76-year-old resident of Lexington, who died following an electric bicycle accident on July 22, 2025, along Plum Creek Parkway. The news of his sudden death has sent waves of grief through the community, leaving family, friends, and neighbors in mourning over the loss of a man known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and active lifestyle.
K.C. was involved in a devastating crash when he reportedly lost control of his e-bike, resulting in a violent fall that caused severe head trauma. Emergency personnel responded swiftly after reports of a bicycle collision, but despite all life-saving efforts, the injuries proved too severe. He passed away shortly thereafter, leaving behind memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Born in 1949, K.C. was a man of quiet strength and deep character. A lifelong Nebraskan, he was known throughout Lexington as a warm, approachable figure — someone you could always count on for a thoughtful conversation or a helping hand. Though he had reached his seventies, K.C. lived life with youthful enthusiasm. He embraced modern hobbies like e-biking with the same joy and energy that he brought to everything he did.
Throughout his life, K.C. served as a devoted family man, loyal friend, and active member of the community. He was deeply involved in local civic initiatives, volunteering his time for various town projects and mentoring younger generations. Friends often speak of his wisdom, his down-to-earth nature, and his unwavering integrity. Whether it was at Sunday service, the local coffee shop, or while taking one of his many neighborhood rides, K.C. brought a light wherever he went.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Chrisman, his two sons, Gregory and Matthew, and five grandchildren who affectionately called him “Grandpa KC.” He was a doting grandfather, a patient father, and a devoted husband — the steady cornerstone of a tightly knit family.
K.C.’s unexpected passing has cast a shadow over the Lexington community, reminding everyone how fragile life can be. Yet, amid the sorrow, there is also gratitude — for the years shared with him, the lessons he imparted, and the example he set through a life lived with humility, purpose, and compassion.
A memorial service celebrating K.C.’s life will be held on Saturday, July 26, at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The family welcomes all who wish to attend and encourages guests to share fond stories and memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in K.C.’s name to the Lexington Community Foundation’s Bicycle Safety and Trails Fund, an initiative that aligns with his passion for biking and community wellness.
As Lexington mourns the loss of K.C. Chrisman, we hold his family in our thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy of kindness, service, and quiet strength continue to inspire those who walk — or ride — in his path.
