Born on October 16, 1932, in the small community of Bold Springs, Tennessee, Everett was the cherished son of Dorris James and Ester Stage James. His upbringing in rural Tennessee instilled in him a strong work ethic, deep patriotism, and an unwavering devotion to family and faith—values he carried throughout his long and accomplished life.

Everett proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. A veteran of both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, he dedicated decades of his life in service to the nation. His assignments took him across the globe, and he was stationed in numerous places—always answering the call of duty with honor, discipline, and quiet courage. He earned the respect and admiration of his fellow servicemen, superiors, and the countless younger airmen he mentored over the years.

Throughout his military career, Everett was more than a soldier; he was a steady leader, a loyal friend, and a humble hero. Though he rarely spoke of his experiences in war, his actions spoke volumes about his character. He received several commendations and honors for his service, though he remained modest about his achievements, never seeking the spotlight.

After retiring from the Air Force, Everett settled into civilian life with grace, transitioning into roles that allowed him to continue serving others. Whether through community involvement, mentoring youth, or simply offering a helping hand to a neighbor, he remained deeply committed to making the world around him better. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and quiet wisdom.

Everett was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from time spent with family—telling stories, offering guidance, and teaching by example. Sunday dinners, holiday gatherings, and family reunions were made more memorable by his presence, his gentle smile, and the depth of his love.

A man of strong faith, Everett was an active member of his church community wherever he lived. His belief in service extended into his spiritual life, where he found strength and peace in his relationship with God. His life was a testimony to perseverance, humility, and grace.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him—family, friends, former colleagues, and fellow veterans. Those who had the privilege to know Everett will remember him for his unwavering sense of duty, his quiet sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his country and his family.
