In Loving Memory of Emmalee J. Jackman

In Loving Memory of Emmalee J. Jackman
March 3, 1994 – July 20, 2025
Toledo, Ohio

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Emmalee J. Jackman, who was taken from this world far too soon at the age of 31. Emmalee passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 20, 2025, following a devastating incident in Toledo, Ohio. While riding her electric scooter, Emmalee was struck by an unidentified vehicle in a hit-and-run collision that has left her family, friends, and the entire community in shock and deep mourning.

Born on March 3, 1994, in Toledo, Emmalee was a radiant presence from the very beginning. Her vibrant energy, quick wit, and warm heart touched the lives of many. She grew up in a loving home where she was known for her curious nature, artistic talents, and boundless compassion for others. A graduate of Start High School, Emmalee later pursued a degree in graphic design, a passion she had cultivated since childhood through sketchbooks, painting, and digital artistry. Her work was both soulful and innovative—an extension of who she was.

Professionally, Emmalee was a dedicated freelance designer and community advocate. She took great pride in her work, often collaborating with local nonprofits and artists to bring attention to causes close to her heart—youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and women’s health. She had recently launched her own online design boutique, where she sold handmade prints, apparel, and stationery that reflected her unique and uplifting style.

But it was Emmalee’s spirit outside of her professional life that truly made her unforgettable. She had a rare ability to light up a room just by walking in, and her laughter—full, unrestrained, and joyful—was one that lingered long after she left. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a late-night conversation, or a quiet walk with a friend, Emmalee made even the simplest moments feel meaningful. She was fiercely loyal, deeply empathetic, and known for showing up when it mattered most.

Her loss is especially painful because of the circumstances surrounding it. The senseless and cowardly act of a hit-and-run has left a gaping wound in the hearts of those who loved her. As investigators continue to search for the person responsible, the community rallies together not only in grief but also in pursuit of justice for a young woman whose life was stolen.

Emmalee is survived by her loving parents, James and Lorraine Jackman; her older brother, Tyler Jackman (Heather); her younger sister, Natalie Jackman; her adored niece and nephew, Claire and Jaxon; her beloved dog, Ruby; and a wide circle of extended family and close friends who treasured her deeply. She is also mourned by her colleagues and the many individuals she mentored and uplifted throughout her life.

A memorial service to honor Emmalee’s life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church in Maumee, followed by a celebration of life gathering for family and friends. All are welcome to attend and share stories, memories, and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) or to a local shelter for at-risk youth—two causes Emmalee championed regularly.

Though Emmalee’s journey was tragically cut short, her legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul find peace, and may we honor her memory by living with the same passion, fearlessness, and compassion that she embodied every day.

Rest in peace, sweet Emmalee. You will never be forgotten.
