In Loving Memory of Mary Anne Trio

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Anne Trio, age 83, who departed this life peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, at her home in Statesboro, Georgia, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted children. Her final moments were serene, a reflection of the grace, warmth, and compassion with which she lived her life.
Mary Anne was born on August 21, 1941, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Walter Edward Corris and Margaret Colston Corris. From a young age, Mary Anne displayed a nurturing spirit, a keen sense of humor, and a deep love for family—qualities that would define her as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
In 1961, Mary Anne met and married the love of her life, Russ Trio. Their marriage was a remarkable partnership rooted in love, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Together they built a beautiful life, raising their children with firm values, gentle guidance, and boundless affection. Russ and Mary Anne were married for over six decades—a testament to their enduring bond and commitment to one another.
Mary Anne dedicated her life to her family. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and delicious meals. She was known for her homemade Sunday dinners, holiday traditions, and the open door she kept for friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of comfort or company. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and around her table many life lessons were shared, tears were dried, and love was served in abundance.
Though her primary role was that of a homemaker, Mary Anne also contributed to her community in numerous quiet but meaningful ways. She volunteered at local churches, was active in PTA meetings when her children were young, and later found joy in supporting local charities and participating in church outreach programs. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it not just in word, but in action—offering compassion to strangers, wisdom to the young, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Mary Anne was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, and had an eye for decorating, often turning simple spaces into inviting sanctuaries. She loved reading historical fiction, sipping sweet tea on her porch, and traveling with Russ to explore places both near and far. But most of all, she loved being a grandmother—”Nana” to her adoring grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russ Trio; her parents, Walter and Margaret Corris; and her older brother, Edward Corris.
